Red lights and red tape: Why Ireland is lagging behind on pedestrian safety
Every day, Ireland invests more than €1m in walking and cycling infrastructure, aiming to make its streets safer for everyone. But rising casualty numbers reveal just how much there is still to do.

Some line from so-called "rural Independents" — the Green Party in four years delivered more for rural public transport than these bluffers ever will.
Michael Fitzmaurice TD being given airtime to spout nonsense on the @rteradio1.bsky.social Today programme with David McCullagh just now.

"There can't be public transport everywhere," says Fitzmaurice, before waffling about how hard it is to "get" and "go" to Galway by motorway.

🧵 Fianna Gael / Fine Fail & their cohort of corrupt independents are an utter shambles. Decades of zero investment & now "let's build more roads". But this is what ye voted in. Welcome to spending 6-7 hours in your cars every day. Might as well live in the car.
Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

the bar was low but this Government never fails to disappoint, locking in fossil fuel dependency to shore up a few rural TDs
The NDP review has been released and it’s not good news

NO funding for Luas Lucan, Poolbeg or Bray before 2030

No inflation matching for Active Travel

No funding for Dart+ South West

AND they admit we wont even meet half the emissions targets for Transport reduction
