Fairbanks! Gift cards are a way to help our neighbors buy the groceries THEY want & need. If you can, buy a Visa gift card at Safeway West and tell them it’s for the mutual aid gift card drive, then volunteers will get the cards to the Bread Line for distribution. ❤️
Donate a Visa or Safeway gift card to the mutual aid gift card drive at #Fairbanks Safeway West, and they will be distributed to folks via The Bread Line. Thank you for supporting mutual aid— we get through this together! 💛 #FairbanksAlaska #MutualAid #Community #AlaskaSky

It's happening again 👀 🦃
Oh my goodness, I was just feeling silly for having roasted a turkey and made cranberry sauce today because I couldn't wait for Thanksgiving (which I'm spending at someone else's house), and thanks to this old skeet I now see that I DID THIS LAST YEAR TOO
Got impatient, made Thanksgiving dinner tonight

BTW if you are a conference organizer and want to see this kind of thing at your conference (and have funding to support the artists!!!) feel free to reach out to me.

Especially if your conference is in driving distance of Philadelphia, but even if it's not, I'm down to collaborate!

I need your help!

In collab. w/the Society for Integrative & Comparative Biology, I'm organizing a group of artists to come to our Jan. meeting! We're looking for artists to create based on what they learn at the conference. $1000 stipend.

People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.

I published some pieces I'm deeply proud of this year. My second novel, one of my most personal novelettes, one of my weirdest short stories, and an essay on an idea that's been nagging me for years.

Hi. It's me. I'm here to gently ask if you've been giving yourself grace? Patience? Self-care?

You've got this. You are enough, and you deserve all the good things.

A nice obituary for Alice, who was going to be recognized as one of The Post 50.

I hate that we now have to live without this phenomenal woman.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

If you feel overwhelmed, remember that you can still make a difference doing little things. A compliment or word of encouragement, a tip to a favorite takeout place, a donation to a local charity, an email to your favorite author, time with a pet, a walk outside, or a phone call to a loved one.

Love & appreciation to all the people who enthusiastically make and share videos about how to do things (program electronics kits, sharpen mower blades, fix small engines, explain math problems). My teen has a lot of interests that I can't help with directly, and you make both of our lives better.

I saw someone on my timeline shaming someone else for posting about college football in a time like this.

Folks, if we're going to survive a time like this, we're going to need to avoid burning out from an attitude of 24/7 vigilance and constant outrage.

Let people find joy where they can, please.

Please share YouTube links to the most regionally specific representations of where and when you grew up. Like… local sandwich shop commercials. Footage of amateur theater productions. Hyper regional news stories. I wanna see it all.

One thing at a time.
I know it's really hard right now.
But I see how hard you are still trying.
Deep breaths.
Please remember to take care of yourself.
Eat food, take your meds, and drink a big glass of water.
It's okay to be annoyed.
You can do things through spite, too.

Max loves you.
