This is a huge win for higher ed! Unfortunately, many institutions complied in advance and already folded many of their DEI efforts. This is an example of why it’s so important to resist until there is no other option. Most of the programs that were terminated won’t be resurrected. What a loss.

Democratic leadership has millions of people behind them who want to be a part of making this stop. If they wanted it to stop more than they want to placate centrist voters, they’d make it stop, and if they stopped it, they’d get re-elected. Bipartisanship is a pipe dream. Footage taken moments before a struggle shows that the man was filming, holding a phone in his right hand, backing up. His left hand is up, visible, palm facing out, as he backs away from the area. An agent uses his right hand, on the torso of the victim, pushing him back, while the man complies.

this is the key problem with continuously executing random members of the populace: you can’t kill everybody, and the ones you don’t kill are more likely to start squaring with the possibility of it than fleeing in terror
Only speaking personally, but today’s execution isn’t scaring me from protecting our neighbors, as some suggest is ICE’s goal. Nor am I angry with incandescent rage, in that I know such rage is unhelpful. Rather, I feel like it has forced me to truly accept that the same fate might befall me.
