This is a good year to grow some of your own food. My Edible Plants book has everything you need to know to successfully grow tasty fruits, vegetables and herbs in our Canadian Prairie climate.
One of my wheel-thrown ceramic vases, with a copper glaze and impressions on the lower right from where the red hot pot was taken out of an outdoor kiln and placed on a bed of flaming pine needles, enclosed in a metal can during a raku firing. Very exciting process!

Beautiful piece!
For #day3 of #ArtAdventCalendar a few Tahoma Agate pieces. Found near Mount Rainier, the blue, green, brown, and white colors in this agate sometimes create interesting stories.

The stone in this cuff, for example, looks like a storm brewing in a snow covered mountain valley.

Winter’s low angle light really makes your sculpture glow here. 🌾✨
Day 3. Titled. “Bending Still” these abstract “Grasses” in situ at the collectors just outside of Ottawa.

Lovely piece
Day 2 Medieval style panel designed to look like fragments being reused. Pieces were hand painted using traditional glass paint and a dip pen with silverstain added to the reverse to colour the flowers yellow. Then kiln fired before leading up.

Day 2 #ArtAdventCalendar
Every November, I plant an amaryllis bulb indoors, just to observe its spear-shaped stalk slowly emerge from the bulb, tipped with a bud that eventually swells and reveals a cluster of magnificent trumpet-shaped blossoms during the depths of winter.

‘Bull’s Blood’ beet, watercolour on hot press paper

I grew a clump of heirloom beets from seed, harvested the beautiful leaves as baby greens for salads, then painted this one at the end of the season, and roasted the roots. Delicious!
