They've given us copilot at work and now there's a giant pencil that follows my cursor around when I'm typing documents. It's so bad that it's making me miss Clippy....

Pardon my dark sense of humor, but Rob Reiner and Anthony Geary were both 78. Since these things come in 3's I wonder how many 78 year olds in Hollywood are nervous right now.

This episode is brilliant. Give it a listen, then maybe listen again to pick up the stuff you missed the first time.
Honestly, it is always an honor to talk with @dahlialithwick.bsky.social on her show Amicus. She is so perceptive, brilliant, and curious all at once.

Here we are trying to g to make sense of another year, and ringing alarms early for the upcoming year.

Taking Friday off to have a productive long weekend and then spending Saturday too sick to accomplish anything is a special kind of unfair.

I love threads like this - an endless list of sodas you've never heard of accompanied by all the reasons why said sodas don't exist in the other 49 states.
Every state in the United States has a disgusting soda that only they know about and that’s kind of beautiful

Another of my #FavoriteThings is pipe organs, which fascinated me from a very young age: my Mother KNEW I'd marry an organist. She was right, but she didn't expect he would be a man.

This photo is inside the wind chest of the giant organ at Longwood Gardens, PA. 28 Dec 2017

Oops. Seems I forgot to post about the Holiday Art at my studio space - Running With Scissors. I can't participate this year, but a lot of talented folks will be there. There's food and beverage vendors, too.

Melissa F Miller is one of my favorite authors. The first time I read Cut Off from Sky and Earth I couldn't put it down. I attempted a reread at a more leisurely pace to savor it. No such luck; I finished it at 3:30am 🤣

It's the best book she's ever written. melissafmiller.com/b/tvWwr

The Portland Press Herald did a nice piece on craftspeople and buying handmade. It features some of the folks at Factory 3, which is having a Makers Market Friday (12th) from 4-7 and Saturday (13th) from 2-6. It's a great space, check it out!

For Portland craftspeople, the holidays are what you make of — or for — them
Some Mainers say handmade gifts offer a more personal touch at a lesser expense than those bought in stores.

It's the time of year to dig out my favorite winter beanie, which is covered in mini holiday lights powered by a small battery pack. It's festive, it irritates people who have to stand near me in an outdoor crowd, and I'm not bothered at all because I can't see the blinking lights.

January 2015, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse in S. Portland during a heavy snowstorm. I couldn't get the lighthouse in focus through all the snow, so I focused on stairs in the foreground. Some of the white specs are the choppy water, but most of them are the big fluffy flakes ❄️
