According to Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges, officers started the three-day sting on Nov. 5. They used several methods to find people who were attempting to solicit a 17-year-old girl for sex.

On this date in 1979, the first of the two-part miniseries of Salem's Lot premiered on CBS. It ran as a special presentation on the Saturday nights before and after Thanksgiving that year.

When I was a kid and picked up Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, Philip Jose Farmer’s biography of the legendary pulp hero, I was jazzed to learn I shared a birthday with Doc.
Ninety-three years ago today, Lester Dent started writing The Man of Bronze (March 1933), his first Doc Savage novel for Street & Smith. He mentioned the day in his foreword to No Light to Die By (May 1947) #docsavage #pulp #adventure
