I'm wondering how many millions of dollars our government will have to pay out once some of these cases end up in civil court.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

Records obtained by ProPublica indicate that food banks across the country were expecting more than 27 million pounds of chicken, 2 million gallons of milk, 10 million pounds of dried fruit and 60 million eggs that never arrived.

Legal experts say pulling Jimmy Kimmel from air may amount to illegal 'jawboning'
Free speech scholars say ABC's decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show indefinitely represents "jawboning," when government officials pressure private companies to suppress speech.

I’m more used to saying this to people on the Left than people on the Right, but, “hate speech” is not an exception to the First Amendment. “Hate speech” is protected by the First Amendment unless it falls into a traditional established exception.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "There's free speech and then there's hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society...We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech."

I am heartbroken by the horrific violence at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.

Events like these should not be our "normal." The simple solution is to pass sensible gun control. Without that, these tragedies will continue to happen, and children will continue to die.

I know a fair number of people on the MAGA right from my past - including key figures in the current Trump regime.

They hate modern America, its institutions, multiculturalism, the Democrats, “the media” and many, if not most, Americans.

Hate. That’s what drives them to tear it all down.

Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Rob Wittman, R-Va., and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, have all voted for cuts to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Yet collectively, they’ve routed more than 1,000 constituent complaints to the agency, ProPublica found.
These GOP Lawmakers Referred Constituents to the CFPB for Help. Then They Voted to Gut the Agency.
Many of the same Republican lawmakers who have targeted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for cuts have collectively directed thousands of constituents’ complaints about banks, credit cards,…

What bugs me most about students’ use of AI: Their use of it prevents benefiting from the goal of the assigned work. Example: I assign you to write a summary of the text. You don’t read the text. Also, you don’t think about the text, assess what’s important. The summary you hand in is pointless.

There’s a nonzero chance you will die from a cancer that could have been curable because people who couldn’t pass 7th grade biology and are scared of things like “mRNA” and “riboflavin” and “walkable cities” decided to make their ignorance everybody else’s problem
Over 120 mRNA cancer trials are now at risk as the Trump admin cuts funding & tells researchers to scrub “mRNA” from grant proposals.

What started as COVID fearmongering is now derailing life-saving cancer research.

Hope remains - but scientists say time is running out.
