I’m only shocked that he was fired and not given his own show.

His job before this was chief of staff for George Santos.

There have been at least 154 cases in which federal district courts have issued preliminary relief against a Trump administration policy.

Those rulings have come from 121 *different* judges appointed by seven presidents (including 15 appointed by Trump) sitting in 29 district courts in 10 circuits:

Deputy Attorney General Blanche's attack on lower courts is an impressive combination of light on substance; shamelessly hypocritical; and profoundly dangerous. More people should be condemning it.

It is an aside in this piece but that what Douthat calls "Bill Clinton's neoliberal center" might suggest that the 1990s were a period of political consensus, which is very far from the truth, and understates the degree to which the GOP depicted Clinton as a radical. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/15/o...

In an essay published by The Atlantic this week, he wrote, “The White House’s assault on the rule of law is so deeply disturbing to me that I feel compelled to speak out. Silence, for me, is now intolerable.”

"There’s no universe in which John is thinking, ‘I want to please Trump,' " a former colleague tells me.

But "there may be no set of institutional rules against someone whose character is what [Trump’s] is.”
