Reminder: We spent YEARS reading thousands and thousands of articles on the Tea Party and how it was a true expression of the American people's will, and it never mounted anything nearly as big as Saturday's No Kings rallies. [1/3]

Bonus question! What do we learn from the NYT's online play of yesterday's events?
Reposted by John Harwood
Those with sharp eyes might detect a subtle difference in NYT play last month of an event in one city, w 100,000+ attendees, versus play this morning of some 2500+ events w many millions of attendees, in all 50 states.

See if you can spot it! /s

Then you can find today's story on p A23
saw him play this in concert last month. an amazing singer and musician.

he didn't speak to the audience - no chit-chat, no jokes, no stories - during the whole performance. i'd never seen that before.

New Orwellianism just dropped
Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”
how far will Republicans go to mask wrongdoing w/false equivalence?

Democratic Rep. Dean to Speaker Johnson: "(Trump) is unwell."

Johnson: "A lot of folks on your side are, too."

There is no “your side” equivalent to a mentally disturbed president.

Sinister, Malevolent, Venomous: Stephen Miller Is Like No Other White House Aide in Modern US History
Miller, the deputy White House chief of staff, has never hidden his disfigured and dangerous psyche. But now Donald Trump has empowered him to execute his fascist impulses.

who/what is filling his head with this bullshit?
Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

this really is all just about resentment over obama being given the prize
BARTIROMO: On your point about the Nobel Peace Prize, do you think maybe the reason Trump won't get it is because you had to get the application in before Jan. 31, and that was only 11 days into his term?

SCALISE: Look, they can play technicalities. They gave it to Obama for just getting elected.
there is most definitely something wrong with him
PRITZKER: "I genuinely think there is something wrong with him. I wish that his family would intervene, because I do think he needs mental health help."
JB Pritzker has also been emphatically placing Trump's mental decline squarely on the agenda. On our pod, he adds a new element: People around Trump are using his decline to manipulate him, so they're less likely to intervene. More Dems should say this. 1/
