I appreciate Sen Duckworth’s courage & candor. But, I fail to see how this is a war crime w/o a congressional declaration of war. This was simply murder, ordered by Sec Hegseth & the admiral, and carried out by military members who didn’t understand their imperative to not obey illegal orders.
Duckworth: "It is a war crime. It's illegal. No matter how you put it, it's all illegal. I've been shot down behind enemy lines. Under the laws of war, you are supposed to help render aid to that individual ... you're not allowed to go back in and kill them."

“We knew very well what we were electing” isn’t a defense of Trump’s actions. It’s an admission of your complicity.

When I taught Civics, I used Supreme Court cases to trace our expansion of rights to demonstrate democratic values.
If I were still teaching Civics today, I would need to place the concepts of 'precedent,' 'stare decisis,' and 'rule of law' in the trash bin.
