To be honest, I appreciate Sarah McBride's response, for two reasons:
1. She's doing the same thing Danica Roem does: she acknowledges but ain't got time for the stupid shit. Focus on what's important and refuse to be distracted. It makes her look more professional.

I'm thinking I need to come back out of the darkness again and join in the conversation here a lot more. It's been a very weird year for me personally but I've come out of it with so much more clarity and strength. 🥰

Not gonna lie, with all this talk of banning books and 'alternate' learning via the B*ble, it occurred to me that I'd totally be that rebellious student these days, just like I was back in the 80s. Not in a violent way, I just wasn't afraid to question authority then, and I certainly am not now.

If I've learned anything in 2023, it's that the Zen page-a-day calendar I bought on a whim last December was really supportive in erasing my last few doubts about being trans.
It was never about being 'enough' for everyone else, and that made all the difference to me.💙💜

Regarding my former job in e-commerce: Most of the time transaction files fail is because the systems actually doing the processing are often older than dirt (we're talking 80s-era DOS here). And also because said ancient systems are using a language that only engineers would really understand.
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?
I'll start: Amazon makes more money out of their Cloud services than out of their e-commerce platform.

Learning that I don't have to experience every single emotion fully and completely and dialed to all the way up is certainly a mind-blowing life change. Things just...are, sometimes. It doesn't always have to be so damn dramatic.
This is such a healthier way to live for me. 🥰

It's wild, rereading my old teen juvenilia and clearly seeing where my head was at after so many years. There's this wild ping-pong between calm clarity and doom spiraling, and it's a miracle I didn't bottom out. Came close a few times, though.
