I have microplastic in my brain and blood but I'm okay with it because so do most of you.
The AQI in Los Angeles is currently worse than when the fires were burning in January.

Air IQ says we're currently third worst air on the planet just behind Kinshasa, DRC and Lahore, Pakistan.

I can feel the inside of my nose stinging.

Not worth fireworks IMO. Get off my lawn.

I wish our culture had a better way to communicate: 'I swear these clothes are clean, the stains you see are old ones that I tried unsuccessfully to remove and I'm simply not going to buy new clothes right now despite my shame'

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands.

Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

The Andor and Rogue One teams have fulfilled the promise of the Original Star Wars Trilogy that is deeply meaningful to this 80s kid.

The intention with which they layered in the transitions between legacies is nothing short of incredible and strengthens the whole while elevating what came before

No matter how depressed I am, the opening beeps and bloops of 'Fireflies' by Owl City will make me laugh because that's just the kind of guy I am.

The global status quo elite trying to deal with Donald Trump is like the town leaders in the movie Footloose trying to deal with Kevin Bacon.

He operates so far outside of their established norms that they don't even have a framework for understanding how to properly address the chaos he brings.

Watching the 1981 movie "Roar" for the first time, which I learned about from the BTB podcast by @iwriteok.bsky.social, and 10 minutes in I'm already holding my own skull in my hands and saying "f*ck no"

Thanks to @gilduran.com for reading Yarvin's latest missive. I tapped out after about 2,000 out of 7,000 words, most of them metaphors that curl in and out of each other like a plate of spaghetti.

Be aware:

Trump and Republicans are absolute *masters* at engineering chaos and then crafting solutions to the problems they created which benefit themselves and their wealthy constituents. On top of that they understand deeply that the American memory is brief and facilitates no consequences.

Elon Musk's goal is to put the government in control of a contractor, and to hand off pieces of it to friends and allies. This is a great piece breaking that down from Brett Heinz.

The recent 'Signalgate' fiasco has me thinking about the Oceangate Titan disaster.

The common element in both is executive corner-cutting by a rich, dumb elite who embody a 'move fast and break things' mindset, viewing deliberate protocols as old and slow instead of there for very good reason.

Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

Increasingly I catch myself aging in real time, saying the oldest phrases imaginable, like today when I said to a friend:

"LLbean is one of the few companies that sell Medium Tall sized clothes that are also high quality and often very stylish"

I'm officially my father.

It's really bizarre to watch our government seemingly disassembled day by day, week by week, and to have clarity on who is doing it and on who stands to gain by doing it, but to also see that no one is doing anything about it.

As a result it's hard to understand if I am seeing clearly at all.

Imagine a barbershop where you don't need to download some jank app to make an appointment and where no one talks about sports.

If we dream this big, maybe we can manifest it together.

Sometimes I tell my wife 'Amy, Good Gorilla' which is from the 1995 movie 'Congo'.

She hates that I do this. We have a small child.

I will tell him about Amy.

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out.

They gut the FAA.
Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted.
Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.
