I have microplastic in my brain and blood but I'm okay with it because so do most of you.
If more programming syntax was fun and didn't read like stereo instructions I'd be an actual programmer instead of an llm-enabled hack

The 1931 original is better as far as clarity of story and adherence to the source material... But the Bogie one has Bogie.

This makes sense when you realize that in 2016 the attention economy reoriented fully to The Influencer Spectacle paradigm and away from the Enlightenment Meritocratic paradigm of competence and reasoned civic mindedness.

Wonky types have been slow to adapt to this new normal.

It's inspiring to see others share their experiments and progress, and plain refreshing to see traditional media like paper and pencils. Thanks for this!

I've yet to see a movie where a carefully planned heist is foiled because one of the accomplices phone decided to update the OS at the wrong moment and another one got locked out of her scheduling app because of a wrong password.

This is the reality I know and I want to see it reflected.

They don't need people to believe it... They just need people to talk about it.

So people (or the media)don't talk about more important things.

Like how we make things better for everyday people.

It's not a mystery. They recognize that the Media expects a level of decorum and isn't designed to challenge outright lies.

Therefore they just use schoolyard bully tactics of saying the opposite of what is true, comfortable in the understanding that they will be signal boosted and unchallenged.

What's crazy is that people think the old logo is a pre-civil rights good old boy next to a traditional ale barrel but it's actually a photo of my lesbian aunt on her Appalachian homestead with either a barrel of brine pickles or humanure compost.

This is the take we need.

25 years ago I was absolutely texting potential romantic partners on AIM. In-between playing Action Quake on DSL and listening to 'Deepest Bluest' by LL Cool J.

If I were married then this would have absolutely ended it

Definitely feels like you could hit Yenifer up for favors at this point without feeling awkward about it.

Or how about 'how do we make sure that a teenage boy looking for romantic advice gets advice that helps him put his best self forward with tact and grace while teaching him about boundaries and rejection and interpersonal respect'

This just randomly popped up in my feed and I'm grateful - the aesthetic / design and UI of this game are amazing!

Millennial Elder Statesman here to say I still have a pair of Abercrombie parachute pants from 1998 and when skinny jeans were en vogue I stayed boot-cut and straight leg.

Big pants never died. You did.

The fact that only a niche, very online group of people even resonate with your critique simply underscores how far gone we are.

There is no class consciousness in this country. People's psyches are numb to the injustice of their relative positions in a culture of excess.

We're all cowed.

They are both world-class bullshitters *and* burying the files.

What a shame. The Grand Canyon Lodge was a very special place. I'm hoping the resources are allocated to replicate what was lost in one way or another.

I would bet my entire life savings that Matt Walsh moves on from this topic.

Telling Republicans to 'wake the fuck up' is like telling a dog to use a fork when it eats.

But there *are* too many apps. That perception is not toxic at all, it is objectively correct 💯 ong.
July 13, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Exactly. 'Cancel Culture' was never anything but a tactic to sabotage the voicing of legitimate criticisms and genuine concerns by framing them as exaggerated or excessive in service to some (usually 'Liberal') agenda.

Love how he's like:

'There's another way - Democrats need to speak to Americans desire for economic security and effectual social programs, but without actually doing anything to make that happen. That's how we win '

Hakeem Jeffries looks like a person wearing one of those super-realistic silicone masks and Virginia Fox looks like she should be selling handmade candles on Etsy.

Can they both go away?

Pedo stuff aside, what if the flower shadow was a gun.
