Happy birthday to John Cooper Clarke. Here's Beasley Street, performed with The Invisible Girls including Vini Reilly on guitar. It's taken from the 1980 Granada TV documentary "Ten Years in an Open Necked Shirt" which you can watch in full at

Appalling behaviour, if you are able drop some pennies to the #Wasdale Rescue Team I’m sure they’d be grateful. There’s a link to their page at the bottom of the #BBC page.

I love how they went from "Guns Don't Kill People" to "A Gun Can Kill People Even If You Don't Use It!"
Bessent: I'm sorry he is dead, but he did bring a semiautomatic weapon to what was supposed to be a peaceful protest.

Karl: There's no evidence that he brandished the gun whatsoever

Bessent: But he brought a gun!

Karl: We do have a second amendment in this country.

🦇 Please do not disturb hibernating bats. Not only is it illegal to do so but it can endanger their chances of survival as they can use vital fat reserves when they become active unnecessarily.
If you find a bat in an exposed location please follow the advice on our website: www.bats.org.uk/advice

I love the fact that the wardrobe Sid and Bernie used for this film was the same that James Bond used in OHMSS, filmed in Pinewood around the same time.

'Lime Tree Shade.' (1913) Like many talented women artists, Amy Browning has been overlooked by art historians. She's a compelling painter, much of her output was impressionistic, aimed at catching the subjective experience of light and fleeting fragments of perception.

Today we have been mostly celebrating the last minute reprieve of daughter’s 18 year old cat who, on his last legs with heart failure, confirmed by a scan 5 days ago, was about to be helped along the way by visiting vets when he got up from his fainting couch, walked upstairs and ate breakfast.
