But it's the only one really doing that, and everyone else is getting out of the game.
Very likely, they don't want to end up like Blockbuster.

Netflix properties come and go with little attention or care. The only ones that have managed to break containment are KPop Demon Hunters and Strangers Things.

Disney and Paramount have movies, tv shows, tv networks, theme parks, to draw in revenue. Apple and Amazon have other aspects to their empire.
Netflix has none of these. It *just* does streaming.

Netflix is *THE STREAMER*, but the problem is that streaming is- essentially-dead.
Or at the very least, cannot grow past this point. It's reached market capacity. Everyone who could use the product has it. And it can't get any bigger.

Remember when Disney bought Fox? That was "a thing that was in the works" for YEARS; formally announced in 2017, finalized in 2019.
The X-Men started actually showing up in the Disney-Marvel productions last year.

CONSERVATIVELY, part of the calculus on this Warner/Netflix thing is that any actual regulation discussion on a FINAL merger-acquisition is likely to happen under the NEXT Presidential admin; which is why Paramount's crybaby "They're being mean!" letter didn't save their bid

I know what WB/Zaslav is getting: A "f--- you buddy" to the Ellisons, more money, etc.
But Netflix has historically not cared about IRL footprints, theatrical, pre-2000 catalog titles and they're "whatever" about IP...

"American Christmas" mostly comes from "English Christmas," which isn't REALLY an 'ancient tradition' so much as a thing Charles Dickens decided England SHOULD treat like one 🤷♂️
