Rana gets daily foot and elbow care; Mara has regular checks for past injuries. After treatment in the annex, they calmly moved so caregivers could clean, earning hay before grazing. When rain rolled in, they headed straight for the pond. Read more: https://ow.ly/KWph50YeMhm

It's #LoveHornbillDay!

When you help us save forests for orangutans, you also help save hornbills who also depend upon these forests.

Won't you give something today to save hornbills and orangutans?

Our friend the Apennine Yellow-bellied Toad lives in southern Italy! They only lay a few eggs at a time but are believed to breed several times a year! They also have heart-shaped pupils! A great toad for Valentine's Day! (photo by Giacomo Gola)

The benefits of punching roads through protected backcountry forests are slim to none. The costs to wildlife, fish, and people are HUGE.

Even Korbessa has a Valentine! Someone who gives her trunk kisses and tries (and fails) to give her flowers 🌸

Late last year, Fish and Wildlife said it was "no longer appropriate" to protect #GrayWolves under the #ESA, and they wouldn't bother developing a recovery plan for them.

We told them that move was illegal — and we just took them to court to prove it 🐺🐺

A salad for my friend, the Sitka black-tailed deer, please 🥗

The Sitka black-tailed deer thrives on a diverse diet of woody plants and shrubs along the forest floor. This diet is why the lush, old-growth rainforest of Southeast Alaska and British Columbia is an ideal home!

It's rare to find seemingly self-seeded native Scots pine in Irish woodland, like here in Beara, West Cork.

There'd be half a suspicion that these could actually be remnants of wild, indigenous populations, like the Rockforest pines in county Clare.

Would be lovely if true.
