just got out of an uber. the driver was telling me how he has to work 16 hour days, seven days a week, at two different jobs to afford rent. he doesn't have healthcare and he worries about retirement. "i would feel a lot better if we owned greenland," he told me. then he cried.

I mean, sure, if there was a war and they snuck up on some soldiers by adopting the trappings of civil aviation, you might call it a war crime. But since there wasn’t one and they snuck up on some civilians who were probably fishermen and at worst drug dealers, it’s just fuckin murder.
Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

the ICE officer calling a woman he just murdered a “fucking bitch” is visceral, but imo the most material new information in the latest video is that she very clearly turns the wheel away from the officer right before it happens

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

Rob Reiner told stories, protected stories and supported stories. His films are the stitching of our movie childhoods and his sense of fight off camera supported and protected even more stories. The emotions are on 11 today.
