Western pasqueflowers holding their ground on the alpine slopes of Mount Rainier. Small, resilient, and quietly persistent—something I noticed while hiking with my son.

If you enjoy moments like this, sharing helps them travel further.

In various pagan and folklore traditions, snowdrops are viewed as a "bridge" between the worlds of the living and the dead, much like Persephone in Greek mythology.

One more London one, an oil on canvas of #Leadenhall Market. My wandering around the City of London in the '90s was a revelation. I thought Leadenhall particularly wonderful and did several paintings there although this one was mostly worked on at home. Sold in an exhibition.

This letter from the White House proves that Donald J. Trump is not in charge of his faculties and a danger to the country. Republicans, always a bastion of weakness, are paralyzed to do anything about it.

STORM ALERT: This is my watercolor print We Grew Through Storms. I love watching storms, but I don't love being in the middle of them. Like many of us are right now. We can never predict how we are going to fare. But looking back we can say we've grown. So my hope is we will become better.

One is rent.

The other is *waves hands vaguely* everything costing too damn much.

I think one way we are going to get through this to make peace with the idea that basically we are all legitimately scared or upset by the state of things but for different reasons, sometimes in ways that might hurt our feelings, so it’s important that we respect everyone’s right to vent honestly.

Honestly boycotting the World Cup would be the most effective and probably the least disruptive of all of the options available to Europe. I’m not sure how you can send teams and fans to contribute to a spectacle designed entirely to celebrate a guy trying to invade your territory.
