I love old Braxton on LP because sometimes I think the record is stuck but then the arpeggio changes slightly and I realize it is the actual performance.

On a little weekend mini-vacay in Birmingham AL. (My wife is playing at EVA Sunday at 6pm if you are in Bham). Saw a great exhibit at Abroms-Engel Institute (www.uab.edu/aeiva/exhibi...) and had a nice hang at Good People Brewing. Get the pretzel bites. Bham is a nice town.

Because international student enrollment is so often used as a cudgel in discussions about immigration, this is a good time to remind people that international students aren't taking up spaces for US students at state schools, they are paying full tuition that FUNDS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR US STUDENTS.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️
