Is there a clone on Bluesky of Bluesky's Twitter account? This looks funny AF but I don't want to go to Twitter to enjoy it. Surely someone has made a bot account that auto-posts here.

Such a good list, and so easy to miss how the little things can make a big impact.
“Good Developers Aren’t Born with Superpowers, They Build Them” I’ve been writing software for… well, let's just say it's been a while! And if there’s one thing I’ve learned in all those years, it’s this...

When does US News and World Report get a 'capitulated to fascism' filter on their college rankings? It's getting hard to keep up.
The legal, media, and academic institutions capitulating to an authoritarian ordering payments for favorable treatment are damning themselves to irrelevance. They are destroying their institutions. They will be — and should be — shunned for failing in their most basic purposes for existing.
BREAKING: Northwestern University has agreed to pay the U.S. Treasury $75 million, over the course of three years as part of an agreement with the federal government to restore funding and end investigations into the university

Epic
Get in, losers, we’re going to the Cambrian Explosion.
ZOMG LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE SHALE

Okay, so the Burgess Shale is a fossil bed in British Columbia that contains a whole bunch of fossils of weirdass creatures from the Cambrian era, over 500 million years ago. But the great thing about the shale is that it has fossilized SOFT PARTS!

Frozen peas are an absolute miracle, providing meals with nutritional and color-wheel balance in all of five minutes. So OF COURSE they are going to add AI to the already perfect peas (as opposed to the frozen or canned green beans, which really do need some help).

Guillermo del Toro says he’d ‘rather die’ than use generative AI

There needs to be a ceasefire *and* a Palestinian state.

Recognising Palestine isn’t a punishment for Israel. It’s about the Palestinian right to self-determination.

Starmer’s approach suggests Palestinians can either have a ceasefire or a state—and that it is Israel that will make the decision.
With Keir Starmer announcing that the UK will recognise a Palestinian state unless Israel calls a ceasefire in Gaza, new YouGov data shows Britons support recognition by 45% to 14%

This is an absolutely key distinction, to the point where I think we should always use the specific terms themselves - generative AI and machine learning - rather than the AI umbrella term.
A very good point – I feel a lot of us struggle to see the difference and the former is overshadowing the latter.
Part of the problem is the conflation between generative AI (completely bollocks “spicy autocomplete” that’s killing the planet) and machine learning (the scientific uses to expose patterns in enormous data sets which can then be explored by humans)

Life is a constant series of small, powerful lessons just like this
Leaving a noisy pub in small town ME. Older guy getting into car with “Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War” sticker. “Thumbs up” I say. “Those other guys were traitors.” His friend leapt to defense not of Confederacy but of its veterans. “War is wrong and they are Americans who suffered.” 1/x

Hypocrisy is going to hit hard when companies & educated elites will lament how no one wants to read, write, or think anymore thanks to genAI.

Then Ray who has been behind bars for 20 years with nothing but books, his thoughts, & numerous writings will ask for a job and they won't give it to him.

I'm not a fan of the yah-boo British parliamentary culture at all, but I do feel that when someone lands an absolute zinger of a question like this and literally brings receipts, there should at least be a chant of "NICE ONE MAGGIE" from the public gallery or an airhorn or something.
HASSAN: Since you testified that Americans don't pay the president's tariffs, will the Treasury reimburse this New Hampshire small business for the tariffs they paid to the government?
