Well there are probably a handful of reasons to defend Starmer’s tenure but the hardcore Starmerites’ version of that is also bizarrely divorced from reality, so they’re just being consistent

Genius!
Excellent work by Reform at Kent Council, who made a £40m saving by briefly proposing to spend £40m on something then deciding not to. Using this model, every Reform council can save £billions!

I believe Wes Streeting is an awful bigot for money
One of the wickedest things Wes Streeting has ever done is push politically convenient falsehoods about suicide rates amongst young trans people. We have new data from the National Child Mortality Database that exposes the truth he tried to cover up.
New data shows surge in trans kids’ suicides following healthcare rollbacks | Good Law Project
A freedom of information request by Good Law Project has found that deaths by suicide of trans young people under 18 surged following the withdrawal of gender-affirming healthcare

It’s the sort of thing you would expect a PM to be told by their aides. The PM is either lying or incompetent, and should resign
New on FT website:

Downing Street has refused to say whether Sir Keir Starmer knew Palantir was a client of Peter Mandelson’s lobbying firm when they both visited the company in Washington last February — ahead of it winning a £240mn UK government contract.

Negotiated by Mandelson?

Streeting is involved too because he’s been associated politically with Mandelson - and Palantir I believe .
so hang on a minute, the UK (significantly, erm, “represented“ in negotiations by Mandelson) has just signed a trade deal with the US that gives into their demands for NHS to pay way more for medicines…. & yet Streeting won’t even tell us the barest details? 🤯

I’m proud of my independent, strong willed daughter. Here in Jenks, Ok. she and 100+ of her classmates walked off campus to protest the criminal way ICE is assaulting and murdering other humans. She was worried about the consequences. I said, “it means more when it costs you something.” ICE out!

One of @guido-kuehn.bsky.social drawings that is almost painfully to the point...
Terrorising and killing one's own population in order to provoke a civil war, which allows one to suspend elections and abolish democracy, is the very last signal before dictatorship to the population to terminate the government being responsible for this and fix the obviously broken system. Resist.

Absolutely bizarre, blatantly transphobia ruling. I'm not the gestational parent of either of my kids, but I'm on their birth certificates (like any number of parents who've used donor eggs/sperm to have their children)

UK birth certificates are not records of genetic heritage

Yet another malicious and unsupportable attack on the dignity of transgender people. Schoolyard bullying, promoted by the state, and endorsed by the judiciary. They can’t turn back time, but they will make it as harmful as possible
A transgender man cannot be registered as “father” on the birth certificates of children delivered by his female partner, a senior judge has ruled. He could not be registered as such because he was neither the biological nor gestational parent of either child. [Times]
