Extraordinary courage from Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim, 43-year-old father of two, who bravely risked his life to save his neighbors celebrating Hanukkah.

Praying for his full & speedy recovery.

And so deeply inspired by his example.

If your government sends a $40B "gift" to another country while refusing to feed its own children, you need another government. There's nothing wrong with foreign aid (in most cases); but there is something wrong with letting kids and veterans go hungry while sending it.

Judge Mark Wolf resigns from the District Court of Massachusetts and writes why in a powerful piece in the Atlantic.

One thing he doesn’t mention in his list of reasons but I’m sure is a factor:

Erez Reuveni was one of his law clerks.

Special shoutout to our friends and colleagues at CDC and FDA who got this out quickly all while not being paid

I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.
Video on social media shows an immigration agent pulling a gun in Little Village and holding it to the side — which is not an appropriate or safe way to hold a gun. (Among other issues.)

Not that a teen beauty magazine will save us, but it's extra disappointing given the work Teen Vogue did to fight Trump during his first round in office.

The capitulation from institutions across the board continues to make me livid.
No more Black or trans staffers. No politics of any kind. The cowardice of mainstream media isn't just insulting, it's *boring.* Now TV is just like any other beauty rag. Why not just kill it quickly? Why the slow-motion pretense?
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

I don't live there now, but Portland, Oregon was the closest city to the tiny town I grew up in. It has always been full of this sort of terrifying lawlessness. Total anarchy, people. It is only gonna get worse.

How terrifying is the protest in Portland? So much that it was the site of a wedding last night. 💜 congratulations to the happy couple! They had a heck of a dance party!

Can’t decide which is the wilder use of “BREAKING” by a government official:

1. “BREAKING: I’m launching undercover operations” — Texas Attorney General

Or

2. “BREAKING: MSNBC still an ass clown factory” — FBI Director
