You could argue Chizik was a worse hire, at the time and on paper, because of his record at Iowa St. but for me Hugh was always in a tier by himself, not just because he was a decade past his prime calling plays but because of…everything else, which this piece perfectly details.
Wrote this three years ago. The football parts held up fine, not that it was hard to predict
