As a lesson this #NewsLiteracyWeek, here's the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, who claims to be a constitutional scholar, misleading the American public about the legality of administrative warrants in relation to judicial warrants. Administrative warrants aren't signed by a judge.

1) Immigration judges aren't "judges." They are part of the executive branch.
2) ICE's administrative warrants aren't even signed by IJs.
3) A real judicial warrant is required for arrests in homes (absent exigency). Payton v. New York, 445 U.S. 573 (1980).

This whole incident is revealing a real crisis of trust in the FBI, it's hard to imagine how the FBI restores any credibility in the Trump administration, but that's what happens when you turn the entire government and related institutions into forums for loyalty tests and persecution.
