Pretty telling that Cathy Wilcox has become a more effective political commentator with her powerful sketchings than practically any of her non-cartoonist colleagues who expend literally thousands more words every week but somehow manage to say very little or gutlessly avoid the issues altogether.

There's a distinction here that might be lost by modern understandings of games. Cartridges existed before this, but they were basically signals to the system to run some preexisting game that was already built into the console. He did something else, something that floppies couldn't do
This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.
The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.
