I am old enough to remember the last republican president famously deploying "You're either with us or against us," and calling Americans opposed to his disastrous foreign policy decisions "terrorist sympathizers." But sure, man. This is Putin.
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”
Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

The fact that every right winger with influence screams "who is paying for all of this" tells you exactly how awash in cash they all are, and how much they rely on that to keep their movement afloat.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

Never forget that the reason they are so convinced you’re all getting paid is that they are all getting paid.
a CEO is a vibes based position who, upon learning that one woman can make a baby in nine months, reasons that 9 women can make a baby in one month but as a cost saving measure only hires 0.7 women for 29 hours a month to avoid having to pay benefits
Reminded of the post-9/11 tech surge at airports, where billions were spent on unproven new technology. We could've also just hired more screeners and given them shorter shifts to be more alert, but that would actually involve treating people well.
imagine if all that money had gone to teachers instead

There is a reason that Palestinians and Black Americans felt common cause with one another ... because of overlapping experiences with the same types of tactics and the same types violence. In other words, it’s been here the whole time.

I’m begging lefties and liberals to stop posting things that erase the reality of how violent the US has been to Indigenous people and Black people (among other US populations) ever since its inception and along the way.
PLEASE. Do not copy conservatives by erasing history.

I am seeing quite a few nurses calling for a nationwide strike over the killing of Alex Pretti. I think we are seeing one of the largest workforces being radicalized before our very eyes.

Too bad the market for PC components is fucked again because I would love to get a beefier GPU and CPU to run Elden Ring in even higher def, but I would also likely have to change cases anyways to go to water cooling.

I hope the roads are good tomorrow so I can actually talk to someone about my prescription because I'm having horribly painful cystic acne breakouts and hot flashes.

It's really distressing the extent to which in all of this Silverio Villegas González, the first man to be murdered by ICE in the streets, has been almost completely forgotten
Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

And Keith Porter being left off memorial signs and being mentioned, also.
Mass Effect 3 is such a great example of why writers shouldn't fucking change their endings just because people paid attention to where the writing was going. The dark energy plot that they canned because people put 2 and 2 together and got 4 would have been 300% better than what we got lmao

Since this has to be said: I love the Mass Effect series lmao, even if you do play as a space cop
I don't know how much of a hot take this is, but my issue with Fromsoft's Soulsborne games is less the way they tell the stories and more that sometimes triggers for NPC quests don't work the way they should and thus it's very easy to break quests.

this is probably widely known but in case someone doesn't (because it is so helpful) - Clip Studio Paint has a Sub View window where you can load ref. I like using it because I can flip through it quickly and also eyedropper colors for characters
Artists, QRP with a practical art "hack" you use. Let's share some wit & knowhow.

A friend of mine just told me, “The right pretends at Puritanism but is secretly perverted. The left plays at perversion but is secretly puritanical.” Too fucking real, man.
