Our hearts go out to everyone in the Twin Cities who is enduring this militarized, murderous occupation.

Thank you so much for the courage you are showing, for the example you are providing, for the precedents you are setting.

Thanks to you, there is hope yet for all of us, for our future.

I can’t imagine what Minneapolis is going through right now, and I hope they collectively have some kind of civic PTSD therapy when all this is over, but they have absolutely risen to the occasion. These amazing, courageous people are showing the rest of us how to do it when it’s our turn.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

After ICE agents shot people in Minneapolis tonight, a crowd faced them down and eventually chased them away, despite federal mercenaries and police shooting a tremendous amount of tear gas.

ICE agents abandoned vehicles in the area, containing IDs, paperwork, license plates, and operational plans.

State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.

Unfortunately, this is the part where I remind people that Black 10th graders get beat up by cops every day.

This is the part where I remind people about modern civil asset forfeiture, where US police steal more value from people (mostly Black) than every form of theft other than wage theft.
It is in no way “law enforcement” to beat up an American 10th grader and steal and sell his possessions.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Fine to laugh at the idea of putting QR codes on ICE goons for being stupid, which it is, but the conceptual place it comes from is that the people who are being brutalized by ICE are the ones responsible for reigning in and holding accountable a rogue federal agency. Worthless

I choose being a human over being a professional.

Being a professional would mean taking that AI job. Being a professional would mean sucking up to demonstrably terrible people.

I’m human, and as such I refuse to do those things. And I will likely lose more than I win as a result.

Happily.

LA County residents are being blindsided by proposals that may drain massive amounts of electricity and water. In Monterey Park, a single facility would use more power than the entire city.
