Because for me spooky season is year-round and my birthday (last Thurs) is once a year, I bought myself a ridiculously expensive Hedley & Bennett apron designed as a collab with one of my favorite horror franchises, Nightmare on Elm Street. I love it SO much. Time to bake some brownies in style 😎🔪

Since this is feeling relevant again, one of the best things you can do for talented “nontraditional” software engineers is just tell other people in your mutual circle that they’re talented - share even one small good story about what they did to make you think that

I’ve had yet another one of those months where it was like, I have been an active developer (as in code/software) for almost 3/4 of my life and I’m *40*, I have a strong title behind me, I have *seen* things, I know things, but every room/meeting I enter is a fresh hell where I re-prove it

Found my own personal peace tonight organizing work-related chaos in Confluence, pivoting from risotto to orzotto while cooking for my sweet hungry wife, and then putting The Craft on in the background while I buckled down to manage my personal email’s filters.

This morning we walked downtown, I got my flu and COVID shots, we ate some brunch, and I stomped a total of five spotted lanternflies. Feeling rather productive as I climb back into bed with a book and no intention of leaving.
