The military isn't going to save us. But they are providing us the means to save ourselves. We must be willing to enforce the law accordingly.
In other words, Hegseth was outed as a war criminal by a fellow Iraq vet who got the story from presumably high-level military officials inside the Pentagon. In case you were wondering how the military feels about him.

Hegseth should know that he can't trust anyone around him in that building.

Anyone who still treats Edward Snowden with anything other than withering contempt is a mark
this is getting some traction on the other place, but might as well bring it over here

I am once again being forced to hand it to, *sighs*, Seth Moulton

Also this is a great example of how widespread the rot is and how far reaching the house cleaning will need to be

Not everyone needs to be criminally charged, but they will need to find new jobs not doing the people's business

In a better universe Whiskey Pete and Gallagher would be doing pull ups in prison together.
He finally got to do war crimes so he can look his hero Eddie Gallagher in the eye.

I am the vessel through which God tells the Trump admin to go out with honor.
no I'm not "posting through it." it's posting through me

If Trump proactively pardons Hegseth, the solution is to signal either to the ICC or the country of origin of the murdered men that we will honor extradition requests on this point.

And then, in something of an irony, Noem him out of the country before anyone can react.
Historical precedent of note...

Not dissimilar to ‘Russia invading Ukraine makes no sense!’

What ‘makes sense’ depends a great deal on the baseline bellicosity of your population and how they view their neighbors
People who say Israel's posture towards Syria makes no sense are stupid and just refuse to accept what Israel's logic is

The aim should be for individual, not institutional, accountability.

Did a university obviously violate the first amendment rights of its faculty to suck up to Trump? Don't seek to fine the university, *seek to jail its president and trustees.*

People make decisions, people bear consequences.

especially when the alleged criminal isn't someone with a track record of serving the republic, etc., but is in fact a former c-tier tv anchor for a party-aligned agitprop slop-shop.
In the future, we’re going to hear a lot of arguments why amnesty is important for moving forward as a country, but it’s the opposite: if we’re to survive as a nation of laws, we have to make sure that everyone — administration members especially — is subject to those laws.
If the U.S. was at war, Pete Hegseth's order would be a war crime, a military lawyer said. Instead, it might just be murder. wapo.st/49KbUJ1

Given the justification was in part because they might communicate with someone, pete could ask Heinz-Wilhelm Eck and his XO what the law of armed conflict says about that, except oops, the allies shot them dead in 1945 after a trial
WaPo with reporting that Pete gave an explicit order to JSOC during the first strike post impact to immediately follow up in order to, and I quote, "kill them all"

Like with a lot of stuff here, it has a grain starting in the GWOT but this is less "oh just the logical extension of the GWOT in SOUTHCOM" and more "this is what happens when an organization completely loses any semblance of morality"

So Ukraine can get rid of their scheming viziers in the middle of an existential conflict but we still have to listen to Stephen Miller’s daily renditions of the Nuremberg Rally.

This is such bullshit.

America needs a special forces command but it sure looks like we need to fill it with completely different personnel.

This is utterly beyond the pale, and evidence of how thoroughly JSOC has rotted itself.

Also recognize that this unambiguous use of the military to commit murder of helpless noncombatants as they fought for life is a direct reflection of the virulent white supremacy that has seized our government, where every Latino man is a gangbanger in a de facto state of war against White America

So I'm pretty sure a three star knows that an order to strike alleged combatants who are hors de combat is facially illegal, in case anyone's still having any hangups on whether Bradley needs to be in the dock after this

I’d kill for a 60s Bond that uses the KGB and ODESSA as villains instead of the zany supervillain shit that ended up ruining the Craig films
I mean you just... start again? The more obvious question is do you make it a period peice or set it in the modern day. I'd quite like a trilogy that was 40s, 50s, 60s for example.
November 28, 2025 at 4:42 PM
There’s hardly any continuity between Bond movies with the same actor before Craig, who the fuck cares
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Telling an Eritrean that they are being “sent home” is basically a death threat. Some Eritreans deported back to Eritrea don’t even make it past the car park in the Asmara airport

As many of you know, I do a lot of volunteer work with asylum seekers and refugees. One thing that’s going on is that Labour’s hostility towards migrants and the counterbattery from Tories and Reform is causing horrific fear and anxiety among vulnerable people who deserve our protection.
