Thread.
If the Biden administration had sent federal agents to do a law enforcement operation 10X milder in a white suburban neighborhood in order to apprehend a serial pedophile and violent domestic abuser who happened to be a white Christian pastor, the MAGA crew would have reduced the country to rubble.
NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Which says a lot of things about Garland, for one, and also puts the lie to all this "weaponization of the DOJ" bullshit that MAGA keeps spewing

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

One response would be: according to the emails, he asked Epstein “to stop.” But (assuming he did) it’s important to ask: stop what? We already know, for instance, that Trump was not happy about Epstein recruiting girls from Mar-a-Lago. Asking him to stop THAT is not asking him to stop raping kids.
People really need to stop framing it is a question of getting more evidence. I mean, sure, that too. But we know. We all know. The president of the United States raped children. Say that. When they get mad at you for saying it, say it again and treat them like an idiot for pretending they doubt it.

Since I actually study many of the works the right claims to revere, this has always been obvious.

I keep wanting to reenact that scene from Annie Hall, but with the authors of classic texts: “I have Montesquieu right here!”
Great piece by Zadie Smith. When the right talks about classics or "Western" culture, these works are only important to the extent that it demonstrates their superiority, they have no interest in art in and of itself beyond that www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
