MYTH: Johnny Cash cruelly shot a man in Reno, NV "just to watch him die."

FACT: Mr Cash did, in fact, write and sing this lyric, but there is no evidence nor are there any eyewitness accounts of him shooting a man *and* watching him die in that location.

Donald Westlake had a character exactly like that. In one book, his family performs an intervention for him, sending him to Club Med to see if he can learn to be less unpleasant.

NEW: We’ve uncovered the first known example of taxpayer money flowing from DHS to businesses controlled by Kristi Noem’s allies and friends.

It’s part of a money trail that’s been shrouded in secrecy—and involves $220 million, a mysterious Delaware LLC & a horse named Gill.

Stumbled across an episode of the Tonight Show, happened to be the debut of @drewfromtv.bsky.social. At the end of his set, he looked over at Johnny, who called him over, and he pointed at himself, like "who, me?" Amazing to see this young guy who had no idea what sort of career was ahead of him.

I hold the minority view that the De La's next three albums are all better than their first, but even so this is a stone cold classic. they were so, so, so good at their peak and their peak lasted almost a decade.

Yes, the man who was inducted into the Country Music HoF in 1980 and the R&R HoF in 1992, hosted 58 episodes of his own network variety show, has his own museum in Nashville (it's great!), has a wikipedia page devoted solely to awards and accolades he was given, we need to start giving him his due.

Essay | It’s Finally Time to Give Johnny Cash His Due
Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, the country-music legend can seem deeply uncool. It took years for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength.

I don't know or care what's on his list, but all I can tell you about my top 4 list is that it has one Humphrey Bogart movie, at least one Coen brothers movie, Army of Darkness, Princess Bride, and probably a Spielberg movie on there. Don't know or care about math and lists either.

Sometimes it's the littlest things that can be a lot to deal with, like a mouse got into your spice cabinet overflow drawer, or your mom got moved to a psych hospital. Why not both on the same day?

Just make another movie like the last one never happened. The first person to point out he got blowed up or whatever at the end of the last movie wins a No-Prize
Here’s a thought, how about just make another James Bond film and do whatever because it’s all made up?
