We need to stop talking about a “crisis of trust” as if the public are behaving irrationally. We have a crisis of *trustworthiness* in politics, and we seem deeply in denial about it.

You know a thing that is very bad about this? This is the anti-trans playbook being played against women. Start with 'has the x movement failed the people it's supposed to help', then infantilize them, then make the case they can't be responsible for their own choices, then take their rights away
"Has feminism failed women brought to you by bank of america" is my MKULTRA sleeper agent activation phrase

Why are so many adverts going the dementia route rn? Why do they think making me associate their sweets with a parents living death is going to get my money?

I've thought about this since learning of it in one of John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee novels, of all places, in the seventies.

Considering India's population, could be the biggest human-made disaster in history.

Plutonium-powered snooper device rusting in glacial ice.

Great graphics btw.

today in powerful omens I saw my first-ever Beauceron in real life. This is a terrifying breed of French sheepdog featured in The Red Sacrament. Her owner let me meet her and she was very nice. When she licked my hand I swear to god her teeth were an inch long

I keep coming back to this thread on the Nero Decree over and over again.

Twitter. CBS. Columbia. The Fed. The Kennedy Center.

They're not transforming them, they're burning them and salting the earth behind them so they can't be rebuilt.

And the biggest target of all is the internet.
We saw the prototype of the Nero Doctrine with Twitter. The goal wasn't to make it profitable or "free." The goal was to break the one place where news broke faster than the state could spin it.

They bought the town square not to speak in it, but to burn it down so we’d have nowhere else to gather.

Just helping my dad put his new oven in, and I'm not saying I'm nervous about electricity, but just as he touched the back of it, he also stepped on the piece of polystyrene he'd been lying it down on and i had about three heart attacks at the crack.
