Burr gets it. Why do so many others dig their heels in and buck the idea? Oh that’s right, oligarchs pushing zero-sum ideas…
BILL BURR: “If someone’s working 160 hours a month and can’t make their rent, you’re not paying them enough. Maybe you should just be worth $900,000,000… How does a CEO take a f*cking 8 figure bonus and none of your employees have dental insurance?”

The whole banning red dyes and stuff was a smokescreen so they could allow capitalism to dismantle these kinds of consumer protections… 🤦🏻‍♀️
Trump's F.D.A. just withdrew a rule to require testing cosmetics made with talc for asbestos, a known carcinogen. That people will be putting on their bodies.

"We have to be unified.," said Trump, "China is unified because they have one vote, that's President Xi. He says do it, and that's the end of that."

Um, sir, that’s not a unified vote…that’s totalitarianism.
Trump is trying to preempt state AI laws via an executive order. It may not be legal
The executive order is the latest in a series of attempts by the Trump administration to hold back state-level AI rules. But many Republicans are also uncomfortable with the effort.

While my popcorn is ready for the show, I’m also reserving my energy for the long-haul rebuilding that is going to take all of us years to decades to accomplish and I plan on becoming a little old lady so my ghost can haunt so many. 👻
If you’re taking some satisfaction from the MAGA crackup, don’t let your guard down. It’s when Trump feels he’s in trouble that he does the biggest and craziest things to deflect attention. Some thoughts... https://robertreich.substack.com/p/sunday-thought-really-truly-the-end

I love my governor. It’s a shame there are others who aren’t out there rolling up their sleeves to help people in their states.
Spent some time this week volunteering with my team at the @fooddepository.bsky.social.

This holiday season and beyond, we’re making sure that all of us in Illinois can thrive. If you have the opportunity, get out and volunteer — we’re all in this together.

Embrace AI, they said. It will be fun, they said. Meanwhile without guardrails, we get stuck with this kind of slop from porn to peddling miracle cures to outrageously asinine politicians…oh wait, the politicians are real 🫠

Be on the lookout for the public comment window when it opens in 2026 and be sure to lodge your comments on just how misguided and discriminatory this is towards BIPOC and women and that everyone deserves an education regardless of how lucrative their profession may be in the eyes of capitalism.

What's happening with the Chicago Public Libraries right now is terrible. The proposed budget of the city would CUT 89 CPL positions. Importantly, 78 positions were lost LAST year. That would be 167 positions in 2 YEARS while COPS KEEP GETTING MORE MONEY. ENOUGH. SAY NO.

Shop local, shop small business. Period. It’s that important.
Cannot emphasize this enough.

If you shop on Black Friday, shop only at small biz, minority owned biz, women owned biz, or support independent media.

We need to normalize not drinking, especially at holidays and gatherings, and accept that “No.” is a complete sentence.
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

-Google
-Apple
-Meta
-HP
-Nvidia
-T-Mobile

They all have lucrative government contracts — and they're all donors to Trump's ballroom.
