statstically speaking if you get me/cfs from long covid your doctor is not going to help, and yr actual medical advice will come from ppl like me who've spent the last 5 years reading medical papers.

you do not want someone who can no longer type the word "statidtically" to be your replacement doc.

Another way to look at the Zohran-Trump thing is that Trump still fundamentally thinks of his cartoonish fascism as kayfabe with no real-world consequences, and when he's separated from genuine, consequential Nazis like Miller and Vance he's just an old man putting on a show again

this is one overview on why increased physical activity is not safe in ME/CFS. you can't safely undergo activity when your body will start slowly disintegrating if you go over some unknown activity threshold (that we currently have no way to measure).
a self-perpetuating cycle that includes damage to the mitochondria and necrosis (cell death) of muscle tissue.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

This investigation doesn’t actually look at whether kids are actually just sick more often, which they are. Chronic illness isn’t mentioned either.

Despite the data encompassing 2018/19 to 2024/25, the pandemic isn’t even mentioned.

A CBC investigation finds that school time lost due to reported illness is up in all districts that provided data — more than tripling in some places compared to five years ago. While the data doesn’t...

There need to be social consequences for enacting anti-evidence policies that kill kids.

One of Danielle Smith’s staffers just called me over (??) at an event wanting to say hi.

Once I realized who she was, immediately questioned her about trans rights.

I've always been convinced that video podcasts exist to force creators to be reliant on a closed distribution platform. Podcasts are built on tech (RSS) that nobody can own. Every major tech company has wanted to migrate podcasts to something proprietary, but it never sticks. Video is their answer.

people want to LISTEN to podcasts!!!!!!!!!!!!

as far as i can tell "frozen burrito" is no longer an item you can buy in this city. you can only find the upscale ones that cost like eight dollars each. same with store brand pizza pockets. they're taking all the poor people staples from us

I can’t even get anyone to admit or remember that asymptomatic Covid is a thing.
The fact that asymptomatic Covid cases can lead to Long Covid IMO probably leads to more people attributing illness to vaccine complications than what could actually occurring, when the underlying problem could be a Covid infection.

It’s surreal to have so many docs repeatedly recommend exercise.

Me: You know that caused a permanent decline in me?

Them: Oh, you need to try it this way.

M: Still causing a decline. (Hands studies showing exercise can be harmful in #MECFS)

T: You need to be more active
The rationale behind these studies, Seltzer contests, is [that] “it presumes that the patient had never heard of exercise until a doctor told them [it] exists.”

Thanks to Simon Spichak for putting this idea into print. I've said multiple times in interviews that it's the strangest part... 🧵
“People who are performing these studies are extraordinarily ignorant, and their ignorance is dangerous,” said @exceedhergrasp1.bsky.social. She and other experts agree these trials are a waste of $$ and will not advance our biological understanding of Long COVID. thesicktimes.org/2025/11/21/l...
