hypothetical idea, but would neat if money raised by @gamesdonequick.com for @preventcancer.org funded individual research grants. community could vote on proposals. annual progress reports+publications could make the scientific process more open, collaborative & train a new generation of scientists

SEGM's war chest at the end of 2024 was over $1.2 million dollars, with a pattern of extreme increases in donations each year they've existed. Article to follow.

First proof of concept of a tiny epaper Linux terminal laptop! I got it running tmux on the display. It is sadly slow as shit because I am using a python library called PaperTTY to display the terminal, reach out if you happen to be an epaper driver programmer lol

A really sad follow-up to this story — Alexis Erlinmeyer, one of the trans federal intelligence workers who was fired, has died of a pulmonary embolism. She was 31. Her family is burying her under her deadname, so friends are fundraising for an accurate memorial: www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-...
NEW—In late Feb, Chris Rufo published leaked chats between queer/trans employees at US intel agencies. Then Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said she’d fire all involved.

I spoke to chat members who were fired, are on admin leave, and who kept their jobs about the new lavender scare:

Chris Rufo published the chats. Staffers say a new "lavender scare" is upon us.

I keep hearing that we're being too hard on the Democrats, that we're treating only them with agency, and I guess I'd like to ask:

How do you respect this? How do you respond to this with anything other than anger? Yr narrative keeps being popped on the bubble of what these guys actually say & do.
Some Democrats hate that their party is largely positioning itself in opposition to the operation that resulted in Maduro's capture.

"Everything Trump touches must be bad according to the base," one House Dem told @axios.com

Said another: "It looks weak." www.axios.com/2026/01/04/m...
