I didn’t take my live drawing classes as seriously as I should have because I didn’t realize the key to cartooning is having an incredible understanding of the human form (so you can mess with it well)
My lukewarm take is that cartoony/stylized art is no harder or easier than realism. It's just that non-artists and beginners are more easily taken in by details, but the flaws are no less glaring to anyone with a trained eye.

ppl are way too obsessed with individualism and then become overly nihilistic when they find out just how insignificant they are in the grand scheme of things like yeah man maybe that should encourage you to be more cooperative and empathetic in solving problems

Having principles sucks. A local bar I really liked put in a bunch of slot machines, but I can’t fucking stand gambling. So I guess I’m just never going here again or whatever.

My happiest memory of the early Internet was learning how to do 2d animation as a high schooler from industry professionals on Synj’s forum. The early Internet was all about artists just teaching each other how to do stuff, before monetization ruined everything.
The "Frieren angle" thing, apart from just being delightful, also completely demolishes the pathetic "AI is democratising art" argument. Someone struggling with a difficult drawing received advice from hundreds of strangers who just wanted to help them improve their art.
