And I don't know if the answer is: everyone is too traumatized to do work and we need to reinvent society. Or if it's more like: generations are losing their cognitive abilities and willpower due to destructive technologies. Or: we all have post-viral brain damage. Or: all of the above.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Man, we used to watch Jeopardy! every night for decades, and I ran the board pretty often. Not 100%, but hard enough you'd notice I'm winning. A few nights a week. No one was ever like, "You should go on."

Amongst the many things that occurred to me during this walk was the possibility that spells of deja vu are evidence of a small black hole passing through you.

Golly gosh, though... I'm quite certain there's significant neurodivergence on both sides, but I can't quite figure where the auto-immune traits come from. Us kids got like the Royal Flush of auto-immune disorders. And some epilepsy.

Doing a little probing. Neurodivergent traits on one side of my bloodline are well known and documented (ish), but on the other side... not so much. I knew of Pop's deficits, but less about his strengths.

I am convinced that people know how to make video games, or could figure it out, but executives throw out like 90% of it and make insane demands that ruin any kind of learning or organizational growth.

This is what I keep telling people whenever they ask me how soon it will before AIs can make video games. I tell them that first human beings will have to know how to make video games, otherwise it's impossible to train AIs, and it's not clear that will ever happen
I think people really don't appreciate how remarkable it is that the games industry releases hundreds of video games every year when you consider that not one person on earth knows how to make a video game
