NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

NOlympics LA started as a DSA-LA working group. This year, they decided to make their bed with Unite Here’s reformist platform.

Our position is that the Olympics cannot be reformed. Efforts to do so elsewhere have consistently failed. There is no “good” way to host the Olympics.

If the government shuts down, who will funnel our taxes to military contractors? Who will tap our phones, raid communities, and deport people?

Unfortunately, the shutdown won't stop those.

The real problem is that the shutdown doesn't go far enough. Make the shutdown comprehensive and permanent!

In the last two weeks these feds have choked & beaten protesters, broken bones, given people concussions from munitions, pointed their sidearms at people, tear gassed a neighborhood, shot reporters in the face, destroyed neighbors' property, threatened elected officials

No National Guard necessary
I don't want 100 troops sent to Chicago. It's a major escalation that must be opposed. I also want folks to understand that the agents that have been attacking us at Broadview are more heavily armed and elaborately, tactically outfitted than National Guard troops would be. We're already in some shit

Hugo Soto-Martinez once compared 41.18--an LA law that criminalizes existing in public--to racial profiling.

Hugo later admitted he wouldn't repeal his district's 41.18 zones but claimed he wouldn't enforce them.

During his first year in office, 41.18 arrests went up 522% in Hugo’s district.
