These two charts came up in back to back posts on my feed. First shows deaths in ICE custody. The second, deaths from measles.

The two charts present data differently (bar chart vs overlaid year lines) but share one obvious thing in common:

Trump’s policies are actively killing people

Of course, Darth Vader was the henchman of a man who called himself an emperor

And his storm troopers referred to their opposition as rebel scum

Somehow puts the No Kings protests into a different context, doesn't it
Trump: "We have Darth Vader. You know Darth Vader, right? Darth Vader is a man who is sitting -- is that Darth? Stand up please. Does everybody know -- they call him Darth Vader, I call him a fine man. But he's cutting Democrat priorities and they're never gonna get them back."

leave your leaves! good for bugs! good for soil! good for trees! good for plants! good for you! help the ecosystem be the ecosystem! the idea that it "looks bad" to have leaves on the ground is based on literally nothing, just clear them from walkways!
As we enter fall, it's so important that we tell everyone to leave those leaves! Mads Torres designed a poster to help us.

Lightning bugs are one of the most charismatic insects we've got. Actions we take to protect them protects many insects!

Ah, it's that time of year in Southeast PA where some people are putting out fall decorations, some folks are putting up Eagles flags, and some people in Delco have skipped right on to Halloween.

I just got over it for the 3rd time. And I can confirm that it still sucks. Get vaccinated. Ask your GP for a prescription. If they say no get another GP. Any responsible healthcare provider would write a script. 😐

Having a pet right now is very comforting, because you can look at your pet and go, “that creature doesn’t know anything about what’s happening right now,” and it’s just nice to have that energy in one’s house.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.
