Drove past a place today called Cowboy Sushi, and it reminded me of @greatdismal.bsky.social’s Sushi Barn in the Peripheral. Too real

Garmin is so optimistic, there are badges that you can earn only once a year, but they cap the number of times you can earn each to 250. Will I still be running when I’m 294?

And there's Gilgamesh with scale armor on, baby
And I can tell you and Enkidu will still be strong

Great thread, of course, by @jessicavalenti.bsky.social on the malignancy of this frame..... "Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place."
Because it’s not just Bari Weiss’ CBS asking this question—in the last few months, I’ve been approached by half a dozen different shows looking to ‘debate’ the same topic.

I even got a request from NPR-distributed “Open to Debate” to see if I’d weigh in on “Has Feminism Hurt Women?”

Head over to @ghoulish.bsky.social in San Antonio to stock up on some good horror reads! I spy copies of The Unkillable Frank Lightning and The Legend of Charlie Fish. And I’m pretty sure these are signed copies. 😀

Went to a production of Cabaret last night, and I wasn’t prepared for it to go so hard. I’d never seen it, didn’t know (or had forgotten) it was based on Isherwood

Today, at almost the same spot, the noise was the buzz of a drone stuck in a cedar tree, with the owner trying to dislodge it with his trekking poles
Went for a trail run yesterday morning at the state natural area outside of town. First visitor in the park, on the trails before dawn. Didn’t see a soul for miles, very quiet, until I was about seven miles in, and all that silence was broken by the roar of a leaf blower in the distance.
