While I was at @bookpeople.com this morning, I picked stocking stuffer books for my nephews!
This was 100% a “grab book with an interesting cover” situation, but the very nice bookseller assured me they were age appropriate (and fun!), so yay!

the 2025 michelin guide to texas will be announced in houston on tuesday
it's michelin season babyyyyyy. no matter what you think of the guide itself, it has serious material impact on the restaurants it recognizes. i talked to three proprietors who received a star in 2024 about how it changed the game.
