I told you guys back when ICE first invaded LA the agents tried to go into my hometown Whittier public library to pee. When the librarians told them to get lost they peed all over the building and flower beds in broad daylight.

One big asymmetry that Dems enable: Republicans attack Dem VOTERS as evil, enemies of the state and now, per Trump, a problem for the military to get rid of. We have one politician who called some of them deplorables and one who said they were weird and people behave as if these are the same
victorerikray.bsky.social
The media trots out the "deplorable" comment from a decade ago to castigate the left. Once a week now Trump implies that the military should destroy democrats, and it is just how things are.

Trump to the Navy: "We have to take care of this little gnat that's on our shoulder called the Democrats."

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

ICE causes problem, calls police for help. Police refuse. “Ald. Julia Ramirez, whose 12th Ward includes Brighton Park, said there was “pure escalation” from federal agents on Saturday. She said community members feel that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are antagonizing protesters.”

We are here, in part, because guys like Schatz would never say this to "ezra klein" - a rich media guy - but somehow think "adam" is suppose to be dismissed and ignored but also do unpaid comms work for them

Seems unfortunate to throw away our representative democracy to validate the feelings of a sweaty weasel like Stephen Miller, bitter that everyone who has ever come into contact with him recognizes him for the antisocial freak that he is.

This isn't subtle or metaphorical: Stephen Miller has repeatedly declared the federal government will use violence against officers of the legal system. Now he's calling a federal judge part of "an organized terrorist attack" and saying it's an "absolute necessity" to deploy troops against her.

Everyone is trying to have a normal Saturday night and the president's top advisor is on X announcing that civil war is necessary
@StephenM on X: Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide). This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.

It was clear from the beginning that ICE staffing up was going to be a full employment program for racists, barroom bullies and wife beaters
