My one one-star review of VELOCITY OF REVOLUTION explicitly states that it’s because of too many fucks. And fuck that, enjoy life.
Some fuck complained about the wonderful fucks in your book? Ignore them and go write some more fucks. You fucking got this.

There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

R: Do you think Death could possibly be a boat?
G: No, no, no… death is not. Death isn’t. Take my meaning? Death is the ultimate negative. Not-being. You can’t not be on a boat.
R: I’ve frequently not been on boats.
G: No, no… what you’ve been is not on boats.

I've enjoyed the first batch of Stranger Things, but I can't help but be amused-but-annoyed at the folks who are reacting negatively, but that negative is rooted entirely in the "this took too long/these kids are to old to play high schoolers".

When the show first came out and my son-- who was 16 at the time-- watched it, he was all, "Wait, is that really what it was like in the 80s? Just... riding your bikes through the woods, no one knows where you are?"
Yeah, pretty much.
Okay. So I just finished S1 of Stranger Things!

Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I feel like none of the children in the entire series are properly supervised though 😂

You know this was added after someone complained that the dead animal smell "kept coming back" and after a lot of back and forth they finally acknowledged that they didn't get rid of the dead animal first.
This is possibly my favorite product answer yet:

Q: Will this deodorizing spray get rid of dead animal smell?
A: Yes, but you need to remove the dead animal or you will need to keep applying it.

Dear every thieving yahoo:

Quick question. What is an hour of YOUR labor worth? How much are you compensated? Bc since we still live in capitalism, I assume you are.

Cool. Now how many fucking hours do you think it takes to create a book?
We’re not small business owners, ffs - we’re independent contractors, and we are routinely robbed by the world’s dumbest dingbats.

I just got one of those AI-powered Fake Marketer Wants To Promote Your Book Emails, but somehow instead of the actual title, the AI grabbed a hold of a phrase in the description blurb and decided that was the title. Which made said email read like even more of a fever dream.

Sometimes you gotta grab life with both hands and enjoy it. Have some faith... of the heart.
Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

your money. They deserve it.

Are the authors that pretend this in the room with us, Peter? I know a ton of authors and can count on one hand the ones that independently live off just book income. And all of those got there because of prior day job & family support.

Right? Like, solve for capitalism first, and then things will be free, instead of screwing over the folks who are also just trying to get by.
People who pirate books: “I just think art and literature should be FREE to everyone!”

Yes, I too would love to live in a world where art is accessible freely to all and yet artists are paid a living wage, but as this magical wagical pixie wixie land does not exist, please don’t steal from us.

I’m waiting for another round of people conjuring up the Morally Perfect Book Pirate: the imaginary person who justifies their actions by somehow being completely lacking in free options for books like libraries but having enough internet to download from pirate sites.
"Fuck Amazon, it's not like they aren't screwing over authors!!"

Amazon pays me 70% royalties on ebooks. You downloading my shit from Anna's pays me *nothing* you dumbass little shit.

"I'm so poor" - And? A bunch of you are steal from my poor friends who are struggling to buy groceries, too.

There’s a certain amount of grace you give your fellow shopper in the “15 items or fewer” line. Like, ok, that’s 19 items, that’s fine.

But, folks, that’s clearly your full weekly shopping. Come on.

I’m just imagining conversations of “ok, we can give some benefit of the doubt that someone might accidentally stumble into what looks like sex trafficking by mistake a time or two—“
“Or sixteen.”
“What? No, that’s ridi—“
“Six. Teen.”
Instagram’s former head of safety and well-being Vaishnavi Jayakumar testified the company had a “17x” strike policy for accounts that engaged in the trafficking of humans for sex.

“You could incur 16 violations and upon the 17th violation, your account would be suspended"
