ok just watched e1 of starfleet academy and so far my opinion is "i guess im gonna keep watching" but IMO the character interaction/dumbshit student situations shine brighter + are much more compelling than any of the srs plot/drama happening, so i hope it leans further into the former.

i was talking with my agent the other day about one of my stories and he was like "yeah this is one of the only things you wrote that has zero jokes." and i had to pause and be like. huh. yeah. youre right.

its a pretty self indulgent story but i say that about most things i've been writing recently. i should really reign myself in and write things that are like......technically well-constructed. on the other hand. the people seem to crave my near-shitposting. so who can say what good literature is.

i wrote a short story while procrastinating last week but i really did just write the first 3/5 and the last 1/5 leaving just.... the sliver at the 4/5th mark to write? why did i do that.
