Baby, are you fuse link D? Because you are...
There are limits to the rate at which I want to absorb new content even in a series I like. Star Wars exceeded that a while back. I feel like Star Trek has now. Sorry, I'm full up on that. Try again in a few years.

80s car stereos were very nerdy and button-heavy in general, but I think the Becker Grand Prix, found in some Mercedes models, might have been the nerdiest.

People always sleep on Minneapolis. People there are polite, but they're not pushovers. They're Midwesterners, but they aren't conservative. It's a city that confounds categorization.

the combination of doomerism plus the expectation that everything in the world occur at twitter-speed is really killing our ability to understand how things like the legal system work.

Okay, here's one of my favorite camping stories.

@danacorn.bsky.social and I were at NIRA Camp, in the Los Padres National Forest. It's at the edge of the San Rafael Wilderness, at the end of 20 miles of bad road. It was midweek and the place was almost empty. It was incredibly quiet. (1/4)

I still say a Star Trek police/court procedural would be fun. Starfleet: JAG, if you will.

Federal agents cannot murder people in broad daylight and face zero consequences.

I will NOT support the DHS bill as it stands.

The DHS bill needs to be split off from the larger funding package before the Senate—Republicans must work with us to do that.

I’ll keep fighting to rein in DHS and ICE.

In light of her extensive work to get anti-trans positions stripped from the current HHS funding bill, I think Rep. McBride is owed some serious apologies by a lot of people on this site.

Sun workstations used to have a clock chip with an integral battery. It held not just date and time but also more important things like the Ethernet MAC, so they wouldn't boot without it. I used to sand off the plastic on one end of the chip to expose the battery terminals and apply external power.

'Why that number?'

The kiosk demo of Mario Kart DS contained "Flesh Trucks" due to a spelling error. While the error was fixed in the final version, looking at the preview image for GCN Mushroom Bridge very closely shows that the truck still has an L. As such, the memory of the Flesh Truck remains.

Something is shifting. People I've never known to be political are suddenly angry. They're not in a movement, they haven't read theory or any of the other things protesters are supposed to do first. It's just a tense instability, like gasoline vapors building toward the lower explosive limit.

Ultimately Newsom's problem is he so badly wants to seem reasonable that he's incapable of disagreeing with anyone face to face. He's what Leftists pretend that all Democrats are like.

We have far better options and I seriously doubt he'll be the nominee.
