2 leaders attempt a coup after losing a presidential election: In Brazil, Bolsonaro swiftly prosecuted, barred from office and now in prison. While in US, Trump isn't even charged until almost 3 years later. Then corrupt GOP Supreme Court protects him. Brazil values its democracy much more!

🧵 In June 1979, suburban Pennsylvania erupted. Cars burned, businesses looted, police injured. This wasn’t Philly or NYC — it was Levittown, the model suburb of the American Dream. Pull up a 🪑. (cont)

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

Why is the WH pushing Ukraine to accept a Russian plan that paves the way for another war? The document offers some hints, declaring that the U.S. would also somehow take charge of the $100 billion in frozen Russian assets supposedly to invest this money in Ukraine and receive “50% of the profits.”
For a decade, Russia has been seeking to divide Europe and America, to undermine NATO and weaken the transatlantic alliance. This peace plan, if accepted, will achieve that goal.

State voter files contain highly sensitive personal information, and uploading those details into a federal immigration-verification database could expose millions of U.S. citizens to data breaches, identity theft, or future government uses that they never consented to.

No one should have to face such threats.

It would’ve been nice if Greene had realized this before she amplified and endorsed calls for executing Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
