Paul has been talking about the tax loophole that Seattle country clubs have been enjoying for a while now but WOW I did not know how big

This is Broadmoor Golf Club. It's a gated right-wing enclave for the rich in Seattle. The golf course is 7 parcels, 122.2 acres. It's assessed at just $76k/ACRE!

There's lot of challenged ballots in Seattle. Challenged ballots disproportionately skew younger with over half from people under age 45.

Do you want @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social to have a better chance to win? Track your ballot, track your neighbors’ ballots if you think they are Wilson voters. Every single vote counts.

We are just one day out from the Seattle local elections! Only 17.6% of King County voters and just under 20% of Seattle voters have returned their ballots. So far, only 1 in 17 young gen Z voters have voted, compared to more than 1 in 3 boomers. Don't forget to vote if you are eligible and want to.

Legendary! Everyone remember to vote @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social
There’s nothing spookier than the prospect of another Harrell term. Vote for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social!

A Baseball and King County Elections 🧵:
As the Major League Baseball season wraps up and we get close to some very important local elections, I had a thought that ties together a baseball statistic and the very important upcoming King County Executive Race. (1/9)

Over on Insta - @joemallahan.bsky.social has a video that should disqualify Harrell from ever being in office again.

We don't need someone who stands with abusers, time after time, and makes jokes to deflect responsibility for it.

Vote for Katie Wilson

Reason Number 75 to vote for Katie Wilson!
Downtown could have "like, a 10-foot wall" where people could talk to AI versions of historical figures. "How cool would this be if we had like, a 10 foot wall. It's interactive and it's historical. And you could talk to Martin Luther King."...

The "Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future" PAC has raised more money from Medina residents than the "Katie Wilson for an Affordable Seattle" PAC has raised overall.
Bruce Harrell's campaign is fundraising on the need to "fight back against the influence of outside money."

The PAC set up to spend on Harrell's behalf has raised $1.2 million so far, compared to the $86,000 raised by the PAC set up for spend in support of Katie Wilson.

Confirmed: SDOT will be removing the bus only lane on E Union Street this weekend, ceding this part of the $130 million RapidRide G project back to general purpose traffic in response to requests from nearby property owners.

During my 3 years living in Seattle without a car, my access to parks and nature was significantly constrained. Many of Seattle’s coastal parks are hard to reach by transit. So are the out-of-town hikes.

We can do better to ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the PNW

Why have I not seen one Seattle news outlet localize what the Jimmy Kimmel thing means on the local level? Because it means a lot.

Sinclair - the company that did this to him - owns KOMO. And they're bowing to the FCC so they can merge with Nextstar/TEGNA, which just bought KING 5.

While renters are "growth" that must be "mitigated" by requiring every part of the city to accept a fair share of them, house owners are "community" who deserve a veto over whether and how anyone else can live near them

If only the 2023 Seattle City Council close election results went the other way. Housing policy in this comp plan would be less status quo & more equitable with Ron Davis and Andrew Lewis instead of Rivera and Kettle.

Davis lost by 235 votes.
Lewis lost by 439 votes.

Odd year elections must go.
"We know we need more housing," Rivera says, but but but she continues to claim the city's Office of Planning and Community Development (which she's consistently blamed for all of the inevitable house owner opposition) didn't "take the time to hear concerns of constituents."
