Honestly, this is a lot of what Trumpism in general is and possibly why a strain of leftist ends up ambivalent to positive about it.
Rural areas are usually much more dominated by the petty rentiers with a relatively small well off from wages class, which helps explain the partisan divide.

In truth, I don't think the problems of capitalism are much different than those of socialism. Keeping humans from exploiting systems for their selfish benefit is hard. That said, I'd prefer to work from a collectivist position than a selfish one, so maybe we should give that a try?
