I’m safety-obsessive about using my mandolin slicer. It encourages you to move your hand so fast and if something slips, no way are your reflexes fast enough to dodge.
Also, a mandolin is essential for from scratch scalloped potatoes but it is THE most dangerous tool in the kitchen. I got a Börner because American's Test Kitchen ranked it as the the safest model with the best finger guard and I, a klutz, have never been injured by it. Just passing this on.

Just drove from upstate New York to New England and the NYS Thruway is peppered with Starbucks at rest stops. Didn’t spend a dime at any of them.

I started saying “I can’t wait for this cursed year to be over; next year will be better,” in 2015 and it hasn’t been, yet. I stopped saying that, but it held for an embarrassingly long time.
Thank you for being so frankly honest. In that spirit, I need to confess that on December 31, 2019, I confidently proclaimed “2020 will be MY YEAR and will be AMAZING” so ughhh sorry about that

Last year, I was moving squares on a Rubik’s cube around until they ended up all on similar, matching sides, but I know now that I was not “solving” the cube. Even what I was clumsily doing a couple weeks ago wasn’t really solving.

The concept of “risk” is so skewed. No PE investor has ever missed a meal or denied their kid a toy they asked for at Christmas when a venture craps out, but their employees, and small business worker-owners sure as hell have.
The threat of "I'm going to be homeless and starve if this doesn't work out" kills so much potential in art and innovation.

I bought a pack of Infinitokens Friday for FNM. Drew a 4/4 bear from my clone of the Earth King, and several spiders from my Spiders-man. Later, discovered I had opened the spider token in the draft, but my drawings were cuter so kept using those.

Uncommon Azula wears the webshooters, targets a creature with Ward 2 to tap it. Defending player reminds him of the ward, then suggests using the Firebending mana to pay it.
That doesn’t actually work because of APNAP, right? I let it go bc casual; my Judge brain and Social brains clashed there.
