Seth Moulton is calling for ICE to be prosecuted in no uncertain terms.

This is becoming a foundational political agreement for anyone seeing to oppose the regime. We need the broadest possible coalition all united about the necessity of caging these fucking monsters.

Seth Moulton is nobody's idea of a left-wing Dem.

(Four-tour USMC veteran of Iraq; multi-term Congressman from MA; now running against Ed Markey for Senate this year.)

The righteous fury in this message is how decent Americans should feel.

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.

I do not understand why every Democrat isn’t hammering away at the clear mental decline of the president. He couldn’t even get right the name of the country he’s trying to seize today on the biggest stage in the world. Everyone else is talking about it. Why isn’t the US?
AOC: The president has been acting in increasingly erratic ways. It is really damning when we think about the degree to which media outlets reported on Joe Biden, yet we are seeing behavior from Trump that is alarming and everyone is pretending this is normal.

it's always so strange that Ben Affleck is a well-spoken, erudite person because every other aspect of his personality seems like the only words out of his mouth should be slurs muttered through broken teeth
Insights from Ben Affleck on AI:

• AI can help write scenes but can't create full movies.

• Job loss fears are overblown because adoption of new tech is slow; it's hype for startup valuations.

• ChatGPT v5 is ~25% better but costs 4x.

• Users actually preferred v4's sycophancy for companionship.

I went to 3 shows on this tour. 2 were full album shows, where I got to see some of my favorite songs for the first/second time. They didn't all work great, but The Price You Pay was a highlight.

Then... we got the fall tour in the US with some all-time great shows.
On this day 10 years ago, "The River" reshaped the road ahead as Bruce and the E Street Band launched a tour that let the album unfold in full, night after night — a show designed to capture the sweep, scope and spirit of the album as a complete live experience.

It used to be that victims of murders in the U.S. would be smeared by InfoWars and Gateway Pundit as a way to fetishize guns and violence for ad dollars and supplement sales, with the added benefit of cozying up to far-right politicians. Now that work is done by CBS News.

Two things are true:

1. Jerome Powell has one of the very few jobs that this Supreme Court wants to protect from Trump's interference (for reasons that have nothing to do with law)

2. Powell still faces real risk refusing to bow to Trump's demands and deserves commendation for his courage

This image is going around with people (correctly) identifying it as Nazi shit.

For context: it is a lyric from an ethno-nationalist anthem most frequently associated with the Proud Boys/their offshoots and ultra-masculine white separatist Männerbundists

In America you drop your kid off at school, get your brains blown out on the ride home, then the Vice President drops everything for a week to call you a terrorist, to slander your family, to protect the circumstances that led to your death so they can do it again. It is government by Alex Jones.

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

Say bad things are bad.

Never let a single goddamned person on the Right ever claim again that they’re the party of law and order without laughing in their lying face.
So Capitol Police officers were assaulted and injured on Jan 6th, the White House today is blaming them for the violence, and the people who attacked them have been pardoned and are back to mock and abuse them on the 5th anniversary.

And the GOP is the party of the police? Really? REALLY??
White House's newly-posted "timeline" of Jan 6 blames Capitol Police for Jan 6, which included an attack on ..... Capitol Police

In fact, early reporting is that this (surely illegal!) Venezuela raid was delayed from Christmas because we struck Nigeria that day instead! There’s so much war we have deconflict which says we’re at war where.
I’m thinking this morning about all the people I spoke to last year who were absolutely convinced, and tried to convince me, that Trump would be antiwar compared to Biden and Harris.

In the past week alone he has attacked Nigeria and then Venezuela and also threatened to attack Iran (again).

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

it is actually kind of bananas how unitary executive theorists have taken a straightforward clause requiring the president to "faithfully execute the laws" and transformed it into a grant for the exercise of limitless unenumerated power.
The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!

The thing I try to explain the most to those who don’t live here is that the Nuzzis of the world live in Washington (the place that deserves your ire) and the rest of us live in D.C., a collection of diverse, mostly quiet, walkable residential neighborhoods with no federal representation
I live in DC. You think “official Washington” didn’t care what Trump administration 2 was likely to do?

Talk to someone who works at NIH. Or State. Or CFPB. Or DOJ. They all knew what was at stake. They were all scared + furious.

And reporters like Nuzzi saw none of it because they didn’t care.
